At its 493rd meeting held on Nov. 28, 2002, the Senate of York University:
- Elected by acclamation, Prof. Beverly Giblon to a vacancy on the Senate Committee on Teaching and Learning;
- approved, as recommended by the Senate Committee on Admissions, Recruitment and Student Assistance;
- changes to the admission requirements, Graduate Program in Kinesiology and Health Science;
- received a report for information from the Senate Academic Policy & Planning Committee including:
- a presentation from Vice-President Embleton on Planning for the Double Cohort and Beyond: A Special Report to Senate;
- the recommendation to the Board of Governors to establish an Endowed Professorship in Broadcast Management, funded by CTV;
- noted a report for information from the Action Committee:
- extending the deadline for submission of status reports to Jan. 3, 2003;
- noted a report for information from the Senate Executive Committee on the:
- revisions to the senate meeting schedule for 2002-2003 as follows: Thursday, Dec. 12 at 2pm, Thursday, Feb. 27 at 3pm and Tuesday, April 22 at 2pm;
- changes in rules and procedures of Council, Faculty of Pure and Applied Science, to include a representative from Engineering on the Executive and Planning Committee;
- noted a report for information from the Senate Committee on Admissions, Recruitment and Student Assistance on:
- approval of new awards and changes to existing awards;
- noted a report for information from the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Academic Standards on:
- addition of a major/minor residency requirement for the Faculty of Pure and Applied Science;
- changes to degree requirements of the Graduate Program in Biology;
- final report on Mathematics & Statistics Programs Undergraduate Program Review.
