The Kinesiology & Health Science Student Organization (KAHSSO) at York University will host the 2006 Kin Games this weekend, March 17-19, at Tait McKenzie Centre. Opening ceremonies begin at 3pm Friday.

The Kin Games are an annual sporting competition involving kinesiology students from universities across the country. More than 1,200 students from 23 universities in Canada will compete in several events including ultimate frisbee, dodge ball, soccer and inner tube water polo. Participants will also take part in an academic challenge, round table discussions and a number of social events throughout the weekend. Each school competes for a silver trophy called “The Shoe”.
KAHSSO is an organization that represents the kinesiology & health science student body at York University. The organization’s objective is to provide a central focus for students and faculty involved in the undergraduate kinesiology & health science degree program, its adjoining certificate streams and specializations.
KAHSSO and the Kin Games have partnered with the charity Right To Play. KAHSSO has purchased 1,300 Right to Play key chains and will distribute them in participant gift bags, along with an informational brochure. Right To Play is an athlete-driven international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play as a tool for the development of children and youth in the most disadvantaged areas of the world.
