Garth Turner, the maverick independent MP, who was ousted from the Conservative caucus for criticizing the government on his blog, will be at York today to give a presentation titled “The Politics of Democratic Renewal” as part of the McLaughlin College Lunch Time talks.
Has party discipline gone too far? What reforms are needed to promote and renew Canadian democracy? How can we encourage more young people to get involved in the political process? Hear what Turner has to say during this free lunchtime talk which will be held in the McLaughlin Junior Common Room, 014 McLaughlin College Bldg., from noon to 1:30pm. This event is hosted by the Undergraduate Political Science Council and McLaughlin College.
