International development week comes to York

York is celebrating its, Toronto’s and peoples’ of all nationalities diversities Feb. 3 to 7 during international development week (IDW). This is the sixth year York has celebrated IDW and it just keeps getting better with this year’s theme “Balancing the Future: the Challenge of Sustainable Development”.

First initiated by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in 1991 in all Canadian universities, IDW raises awareness about and embraces new perspective on development and internationalism by bringing together students, faculty and neighbouring communities. York International supports and contributes to IDW along with the University’s faculty, colleges, organized research units, students, student clubs, and external organizations and communities.
