Dan Eves, York’s male athlete of the year in 2006-2007, will represent the University in the second annual Be One All-Canadian All-Star men’s basketball game on Saturday, May 5, at Humber College North Campus in Etobicoke.
The event, which begins with a women’s game at noon and concludes with the men’s game at 2:30pm, showcases the top university and college basketball players in Canada.

Eves had an outstanding final year at York. The forward was named a second-team all-Canadian for the second time in his career, finishing third in the OUA in scoring with 19.85 points per game. He also was the MVP of the Ed DeArmon Memorial Basketball tournament at Ryerson in December, leading York to a championship victory.
Eves is the third York player to play in the two-year-old event. In the inaugural event last year at McMaster University in Hamilton, York’s Brenan Rurak played in the women’s game, while Tut Ruach suited up in the men’s game.
Tickets for the event, available at the door, are $5 for Be One members and $10 for non-members. The Rogers Television network will show both games on tape delay – the women’s game on Saturday, May 12, at 2pm and the men’s game on Saturday, May 19, at 2pm.
