An event to mark International Women’s Day will be hosted for the first time by York University’s YSpace Markham and Startup York, aiming to empower and inspire the next generation of female leaders by connecting them with a panel of inspirational women.
The inaugural event, YSpace Women’s Day Brunch! – Inspiring the Next Generation of Women at Work, takes place on March 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at YSpace Markham, 169 Enterprise Blvd., third floor.
During the event, female leaders will share advice and stories of how they overcame challenges in life and work to create a purposeful and beautiful life.
Attendees will enjoy brunch and learn how the road to creating more gender-balanced boardrooms, governments, courtrooms and workplaces starts with having female role models who are not afraid to break barriers and fight stereotypes. The event supports the theme of International Women’s Day 2019: #BalanceForBetter – Better the Balance, Better the World.
Speakers for this event include:
- Brittany Charlton, founder of OHH! Foods;
- Ijade Maxwell Rodrigues, chief of government and community relations at York University;
