YURA Walk in the Lower Humber River Valley
Please join YURA as we walk the lands around the lower Humber River Valley in west Toronto between Bloor Street West and Dundas Street. This event will take place on Tuesday, June 6th with a rain date* of Wednesday, June 14th.
The walk is being led by Professor Emeritus and former Dean, Dr. Peter Victor, Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change, who will provide commentary on the history, flora and fauna of the Humber River Valley. Peter is a long-time resident of the area and avid walker.
The details:
Date: Tuesday, June 6, 2023 (rain date Wednesday, June 14th*)
Time: 10:00 AM
Meeting point: Main exit of the Old Mill Subway Station – the walk will also end here
Terrain: Approximately 5 km over fairly flat terrain
Time: Approx 1.5 hours in total
Registration: Send your name and mobile telephone # to yura@yorku.ca no later than May 30, 2023. The number of participants will be limited to the first 10 who register.
Cost: $10 per person – etransfer to yurams@yorku.ca – once you have received confirmation of your registration. Funds collected will support the YFS Food Support Centre (student food bank) at York University

By participating in the YURA walk of the Humber River Valley in June 2023 as ultimately scheduled, you voluntarily assume the responsibility for exposure related to COVID and all other risks. You take full responsibility for your physical ability to participate in and complete the walk. The wearing of a mask is at the discretion of the individual.
*Rain date - The determination to alter the date to June 14th will be made on Monday, June 5th depending on forecast weather conditions. All confirmed participants will be notified by email on June 5th.
