STUDENT FAQ
Make sure you have completed the steps necessary to accept your offer of admission from York University. When you clicked on Myfile and accepted your offer, you would have received an email with the next steps. This email would have included information on when your enrolment access window opens as well as setting up your Passport York (PPY) ID. You’ll need to use your PPY to login to YU START and access the platform’s resources.
If you have done all these things and still can not get in, then send an email to yustrprb@yorku.ca to explain your issue and be sure to include your student number as well as a screen shot of what you’re seeing. You will receive a response providing you with the next steps.
What courses you need to enrol into will be indicated in the Courses to Take section. This section will become available to you 72 hours prior to when your enrolment access window opens. Keep a look out for an email that will notify you that this section is now available so you can review it and then complete the enrolment checklist to be ready to enrol. Prior to this section becoming available, we ask that review the other material available on the platform to ensure you are familiar with how to create your schedule as well as other important resources at York.
Once you’ve reviewed your Courses to Take section and completed the Enrolment Checklist including confirming you’re ready to enrol, your registration and enrolment block will be lifted if your enrolment access date has passed. This date is when the system will allow you to start enrolling into classes and your block will remain until this date has come. As you’re starting your journey at York its important to take advantage of the opportunities you have prior to classes starting to get familiar with your new school. Make sure you’ve done the following to give yourself the best possible chance to succeed:
1) Joined the online Slack community (link can be found on the YU START homepage)
2) Followed the Student Life Instagram (login to YU START and click on the header image)
3) Visited the Orientation website and registered for transition and orientation activities
