Research Interests
As a research assistant, I help Scott with his projects involving urban complexity affecting bees and wasps. Recently, I've been setting up cameras on nestboxes to see how different habitats (roofs, parks, and backyards) can limit or increase foraging behaviours of bees and wasps. We will then see how potential factors such as height and urban complexity can influence their foraging behaviour. We are also working on gathering pollen samples from bee cocoons and flowers and later performing acetolysis to make a pollen database.

Funniest Research Story
I was about to set up a camera on one of the nestboxes at Evergreen Brickworks when a black snake slithered across my path less than a meter in front of me. I turned around and ran back to my car, all the while screaming at the top of my lungs. People who saw me probably assumed I saw a bear - or most likely, they thought I was just plain crazy. For the rest of the day, I wore my super thick strong rain boots and I wouldn't take them off until I got home!
