CASA SAN GIUSEPPE
Vicolo Moroni, 22 • 00153 Roma • Italia
Our accommodation from 1-27 June 2008 will be at the Casa San Giuseppe, formerly a convent now open to the public. The casa (house) is located on a quiet little street that is nonetheless centrally located in the colourful and bustling rione (neighbourhood) of Trastevere, within the historical centre of the city. With a range of amenities (including internet access, food shops, pharmacies, bars, eateries at all price points, tabacchi, and specialty shops) as well as movie theatres, contemporary galleries, and historical monuments close by, the location couldn’t be better!
The management at the Casa San Giuseppe has offered us a group rate for the month of June, making this accommodation affordable for students. Within the casa, students will be assigned to clean and airy rooms of three or four with an en suite bathroom. There will be regular housekeeping, which should assist in keeping the rooms livable throughout the month. The group rate also includes a full buffet breakfast daily. Best of all, the casa boasts an inviting third-floor terrace offering a view of both the Tiber river, which runs through the city, and the Gianicolo/Janiculum Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome and that closest to Trastevere.
The images below offer you a view into some of the public spaces of the casa (1-4), the terrace and two of its vistas (5-8), and glimpses of the immediate area (9-12).For a brief history of our home rione, visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trastevere
