...an alignment with the status quo. That is, it not only privileges "whiteness" but it sets it up as a cultural norm. In addition, the lack of different races on the show allows those behind the scenes to avoid dealing with minority issues and even ignore that they exist altogether. It is likely that most people have noticed this lack of representation on the show but it has not affected the core audience.
