WINTER TERM ASSIGNMENTS:
As you did last semester, you must launch your Projects by presenting your idea to the class, complete with initial research and a maximum 250 word Proposal (hard copy). Showing work-in-progress is mandatory and will be part of the overall project grade. There are no extensions for missing a work-in-progress class. If you do not attend this class, you will receive Zero for that portion of the overall project grade.

Artist Research Presentation (15%)
Give a comprehensive scholarly illustrated presentation about the artist you have been assigned (15-20 minutes). You need to research two artists, but choose only one to present.
• At least one third of your talk must be about that artist’s work in relation to your work (completed or in progress for this course).
• Use a minimum of three reviews, essays or articles about/by the artist, in addition to any other web research.
• Correspond with the artist and present this original research in combination with what you learn from the rest of your research. Corresponding with the artist can include email responses to your insightful questions, a Skype interview, or a meeting with the artist in person (when possible). Your correspondence must be evident in your presentation.
• Bibliography and references must be typed and handed in.

Critique: February 27
|Artist Statement: March 6

Final Project #4 (20%)
This can be a revision or adaptation of any of the work completed this year. If you choose to do this, the work must represent a significant variation or extension of the original work.
Written proposal due in class for oral presentation with support material (research, inspiration, sketches, etc.): March 6
Work-in-progress Presentation (graded): March 27
Final Critique & Artist Statement: April 5
