Here are some websites pertinent to the study of Biological Physics
Biophysics at York
Here you will find information about the Biophysics degree
program at York University

This is the home page of the Biophysical Journal. The website offers
a variety of educational resources as well.

Biomimetics (text by Tom Mueller)
A feature article published online (apr 2008) by the National Geographic
Society. Biomimetics is a very general term that encompasses research
and development at both micro and macro levels. Essentially, it applies Nature's Designs
to solve engineering challenges. A Google search on biomimetics
[link] will pull up a number of other
fascinating links.
Tensile Water movies from the International Space Station
The tensile strength of water is something we commonly view as a property of the
water surface (because of the tyranny of gravity). In the absence of gravity, there
are some surprises, as demonstrated by Don Pettit on the International
Space Station. Tensile water is a key element in the Lew Lecture on "the height of
a tree".
Brownian Motion (Java applet)
A Java applet (Java must be enabled in your browser)
from Michael Fowler and Drew Dolgert at the Physics Department, University of Virginia
[link].
It illusrates how the bombardment of smaller particles (normally invisible
to the naked eye) results in the random walk of larger particles (that can
be seen). This was the phenomenon Einstein explored in his 1905 paper.
NCBI Bookshelf: Berg et al. Biochemistry
A useful resource for background information about cellular
biochemistry.
NCBI Bookshelf: Gilbert Developmental Biology
A useful resource for background information about developmental
biology. Unfortunately, animal-centric.
