Master of Public Administration (MPA) Schulich School of Business
Program Overview
York's Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree provides a unique and practical combination of management
education, program analysis and evaluation, and public policy analysis and development. Graduates from the
MPA program can build new careers or add value to existing careers in government at the local, provincial and
federal levels; in the private sector; and in nonprofit organizations in the healthcare, education, and arts and media sectors.
The length of time required to complete the MPA will depend on a number of factors, including a
student's previous educational and work experience, and choice of full or part time study. The MPA is an
attractive option for students with an undergraduate background in public administration, and at least two years
of significant work experience in the public sector. Such students may qualify for advanced standing for some public
administration courses, and therefore they may be able to complete the degree in 12 to 18 months.

Part-Time LLM Osgoode Hall Law School
Program Overview
For lawyers looking to thrive in today's competitive environment, the key to success lies in advanced, in-depth knowledge.
Under the auspices of Osgoode Professional Development, the Part-Time LLM Program builds on
Osgoode's tradition in quality graduate education, and provides highly relevant coursework dealing with today's
most timely issues.
The program is structured to allow the working lawyer maximum flexibility while providing a
complete schedule of study in an area of specialization. Students with an interest in public
policy and administration may be particularly interested in LLM specializations in Administrative Law,
Alternative Dispute Resolution and Constitutional Law. Alternatively, the General LLM program serves
the needs of students who wish to design their own LLM program.
Most of the LLM classes are taught in
downtown Toronto at the Osgoode Professional Development Centre, located at 1 Dundas Street West.
Continuing interest in the Part-Time LLM Program from lawyers outside Toronto and Ontario has resulted in the
PDP offering particular specializations through various distance education formats, including intensive all-day
programs and live videoconferencing.
