Location of Sessions

The majority of sessions for Provincial Dialogue will be held on Keele campus in the Accolade buildings, our state of the art Fine Arts facilities. The Accolade East and Accolade West buildings cover 330,000 square feet of York’s campus that, along with lecture halls, classrooms and computer labs are accessible to students across the University and provide a home with dedicated facilities for the Departments of Music and Dance. Flagship facilities include a recital hall with integrated recording studio; a proscenium theatre with orchestra pit and generous stage; new dance studios and a wide range of specialized music studios; a new student art gallery; and a large cinema/lecture hall.

Sessions and activities on the afternoon of Thursday, May 15 will be held at the Glendon campus. Glendon is nestled in an oasis of lush parkland that began as a private estate, an environmentl where simple physical beauty - the rose garden, the architecture of the manor house - is a constant source of pleasure.

Accommodation

Delegates for Provincial Dialogue 2008 will stay in Pond Road Residence, our newest residence. The building features two-bedroom suites which share an ensuite kitchen and bathroom. Among the building’s interesting and environmentally friendly features is the 1,000-square-meter grass-planted roof which increases thermal insulation and stores ground water (reducing the need for sewers). The nine-storey residence features the advanced radiant heating and cooling technology, using less energy and providing more comfort than conventional forced-air or electric heaters. There is a large ground floor common room.

Meals

While on the Keele campus, delegates will enjoy ecclectic menus and dining options catered by the Underground Restaurant, located in York's Student Centre.

The Underground recently underwent a $2 million dollar renovation that solidified it as one of Canada's largest on-campus restaurants and nightclubs. As one of York's favourite restaurants, the Underground has become synonymous with great food and pleasureable dining.
