Our paper Vibration Control Using Input Shaping and Adaptive Positive Position Feedback has been accepted for publication by AIAA Journal of Guidance Control and Dynamics.

Our paper Membrane Structure Active Flatness Control Using Genetic Algorithm with Online Objective Reweighting has been accepted for publication by Acta Astronautica.

August 13, 2010 [Funding]

Prof. Jinjun Shan was awarded a NSERC Engage Grant to study Azimuth stabilization control system for high-altitude balloon platform.


August 1-9, 2010 [Visiting]

Prof. Naigang Cui, Head of Department of Astronautical Engineering, and Prof. Naiming Qi from Harbin Institute of Technology visited SDCNLab and York University.

Dr. Allan Lee from The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) visited SDCNLab and gave a presentation on From Cassini to Altair: Guidance, Navigation and Control Challenges.

August 2-5, 2010 [Conference]

Prof. Jinjun Shan and Ryan Orszulik attended 2010 AIAA GNC conference in Toronto. Ryan presented his work on Vibration Suppression of Flexible Manipulator by Combining Modified Input Shaping and Adaptive Positive Position Feedback Control during the conference.


June 7-9, 2010 [Conference]

Prof. Jinjun Shan and Ryan Orszulik attended CSME Forum 2010 in Victoria, BC. Two papers were presented during the conference.



May 31, 2010 [Members]

Dr. Xiaogang Wang recently joined SDCNLab as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Dr. Wang got his PhD from Harbin Institute of Technology. Dr. Wang will work on guidance and navigation systems at SDCNLab. Welcome, Xiaogang!


May 27-28, 2010 [Conference]

Prof. Jinjun Shan was invited to give a presentation on spacecraft formation flying on Space Science Symposium - A tribute to the 50-year career of Gordon G. Shepherd at York University.

Mr. Michael Stachowsky passed his thesis defense on April 26, 2010. Well done, Mike! His thesis is on Dynamics and Control of Two-Link Flexible Manipulator. Mike is pursuing his PhD at Guelph University.

Michael Stachowsky gave the final presentation of our work on Non-linear Finite Element Analysis and Control Verification of Membrane Structure for SAR Antenna at York University. This CSA contract has been completed successfully. Well done, Ryan, Piotr and Mike!
