Prof. Jinjun Shan was awarded a NSERC Engage Grant to investigate Novel Navigation Strategies for Multiple Robot Formation. Our industry partner is Dr Robot Inc.

In the past summer, Donald Ellison, a M.Sc. student from UIUC Aerospace Engineering, has worked in SDCNLab on lunar penetrator simulation. Shawn, Gowry, Latheepan from York also worked in our lab on various projects.

Dr. Yuan Ren joined SDCNLab as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. He will work on Lunar Transfer Trajectory Design and Optimization. Welcome, Yuan!


August 5 - 12, 2011 [Conference]

Prof. Jinjun Shan attended 2011 AIAA GNC conference in Portland, Oregon. Prof. Shan presented two papers on this conference: Active Flatness Fuzzy Logic Control of Space Membrane Structure; Experimental Study on Combining a Simple Input Shaper and Adaptive Positive Position Feedback Control.




August 1, 2011 [Funding]

Prof. Jinjun Shan together with MPB Communications Inc. won a CSA contract on Canadian Lunar Micro Rover Mission. Our team also includes University of Surrey, University of Hawaii, MDA, NGC, etc. SDCNLab will be responsible for lunar transfer trajectory design, optimization and soft-landing strategies.


June 29 - July 1, 2011 [Conference]

Prof. Jinjun Shan and Ryan Orszulik attended 2011 American Control Conference in San Francisco. Ryan presented our work on Multi-Mode Adaptive Positive Position Feedback: An Experimental Study.




June 8 - 25, 2011 [Members]

During this period, Prof. Shan was invited to give talks at several universities in China, including Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Harbin University of Engineering, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), Jiangnan University. Here are some pictures.
