The York Atmospheric Science Club aims to educate and inform its members and other like-minded individuals about all things weather and other atmospheric phenomenon. It is intended as a way for Atmospheric Science students, and those in related programs, to get to know each other and to learn about some of the applications of our studies in the real world. Many students majoring in Atmospheric Science have questions about what career paths are open to them once they graduate. Our hope for the club is to let interested students see what the future may hold for those who study it, including operation forecasting, meteorology, and graduate studies. Throughout the year, we organize tours of weather-related facilities and present speakers on various aspects of atmospheric science. If you are an Atmospheric Science student, or if you are in another major, joining the club is a great way to meet the rest of the students in the department and find out about opportunities in the field.
