In this space we will try to highlight
stories of women's struggles, visions
and reflections. We hope that these
stories are seeds that will
inspire all of us in our struggles.
Café Femenino is
the story of a group of women in
Peru
and their struggle for respect and
self-determination. Their
experiences tell us how they confront
gender inequities at various levels:
those that are present within
communities as well as those that
emanate from the interactions of
marginalized communities with national
and global processes. Click on the
link below to read a brief report
prepared by one of our researchers,
Vivian Jimé
nez, in collaboration with Isabel
Uriarte Latorre of PROASSA, an
organization that supports Café
Femenino.
Vivian is also a doctoral candidate at
OISE, University of Toronto.
