Nicole completed her B.Sc. (Honours) in biochemistry at York University in 2023. She joined the Hili lab as an undergraduate student in 2021, assisting with projects in epitranscriptomics, DNA-encoded libraries, and medicinal chemistry. She also worked under Dr. Christopher Caputo, investigating the use of Lewis acidic materials as metal-free alternatives to precious metal catalysts. Nicole joined the Hili and Kim labs as a M.Sc. student with the aim of using her chemistry knowledge to expand the chemical diversity of CRISPR base editing technologies. Further, Nicole also developed an interest in how scientists can play a pivotal role in political decision-making. Outside of the lab, she enjoys volunteering in her community, listening to music, dancing, and occasionally cracking a chemistry joke.
