Pariya was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. Currently she’s an undergraduate student pursuing an honors B.Sc in Biochemistry at York University. Taking various courses in biology and chemistry at York intrigued her to seek research opportunities. She has a passion for both organic chemistry and molecular biology. Pariya is thrilled to start working with amazing members of Professor Hili’s research group. Her research focuses on synthesizing new inhibitors against the cancer-related epitranscriptomic protein. Ultimately, she is interested in pursuing a career in research or medicine. During her free time, she likes to get involved in York’s community by volunteering and taking on mentorship roles such as being a peer mentor and tutor. She also likes to spend time with her friends, practice French, exercise and make delicious smoothies.
