Presentation: The Challenges Ahead for Revitalizing Toronto

Mr. Layton discussed the challenges facing the City of Toronto in engaging residents in planning for the
future of their neighbourhoods. His presentation drew on his perspectives on social and environmental justice issues in revitalization. Through his experience in researching Environmental Defence's Greening Canada's Buildings: Report Card, Councillor Layton developed a framework for evaluating federal and provincial policies regarding the environmental impact of buildings in Canada.
