Los profesores que deseen acceder a estos programas que ofrece el Ministerio de Educación y Cultura de España deben estar pendientes de las respectivas convocatorias en el B.O.E. de España. El Centro de Recursos no puede contratar directamente a nadie.

Para estimular y mejorar la calidad de la enseñanza de la lengua española en Ontario, el Ministerio de Educación y Cultura Español está intentando difundir el programa de profesores visitantes..

Este programa permite a los profesores provenientes de España y que son especialistas en la enseñanza bilingüe y en la enseñanza del español como lengua segunda, enseñar en los colegios de Ontario. Igualmente estos profesores podrán asumir la enseñanza de otras materias.

El profesor vistante será pagado por la comisión escolar y firmará un contrato por un período mínimo de un año, renovable hasta seis años.

Los objetivos del profesor visitante son los siguientes :

• Permitir a las comisiones escolares obtener profesionales altamente especializados que puedan responder a sus necesidades. 
• Tener el soporte técnico de la parte del Ministerio de Educación Español para la selección de los candidatos. 
• Permitir tanto a las instituciones canadienses como a los profesores españoles estimular la cooperación internacional, desarrollar las relaciones profesionales permanentes y formar parte de una "comunidad educativa internacional". 
• Constituyen uno de los mejores y más eficientes instrumentos de inserción de España y el español en Canadá.

The Visiting Teachers Program is a collaborative program supported by the Ministry of Education/Embassy of Spain and several departments of education and school districts across the United States.

This program offers U.S. school districts the opportunity to recruit foreign language and bilingual teachers from Spain to teach at elementary, middle and high school levels. At the same time it provides students, parents and educators with the opportunity to work with professionals who are native speakers of the target language, bringing a valuable international perspective to American classrooms.

The visiting teachers make a one to three year commitment to teach in the United States, provided that the school district agrees to rehire them. Participating districts employ these teachers in accordance with state regulations and policies and pay them according to their experience and certification level

Fall

• U.S. states and/or districts apply to participate in the program
• Positions are announced in the Official Gazette of the Ministry of Education of Spain. Applicants submit their résumé, with full documentation of their education and experience. The Ministry of Education determines eligibility.

Spring

• The selection committee from each participating school district or state travels to Spain to interview candidates. The Ministry of Education assumes travel and lodging expenses of representatives.
• The State Department of Education or participating school districts prepare the applications for the J1 visas for the selected teachers.

Summer

• The selected teachers receive orientation in Spain and/or the United States.

In collaboration with participating school districts, Ministry of Education representatives assist visiting teachers upon their arrival in the United States and provide support throughout their stay.
